Camera Picta - Fuorisalone 25
Two Italian companies, both icons in the world of Made in Italy surfaces: Radici, a leader in the production of highly technological and fully customizable textile flooring, and Zambaiti Parati, specialized in wallcoverings, wallpaper, and digital panels, present Camera Picta at Milan Design Week, from April 7 to 13.
The installation, designed by Serena Confalonieri, will be hosted in a space in the heart of Brera, at Corso Garibaldi 17.
The project is a tribute to surface coverings—a shell where decoration enters forcefully, taking over the space, reshaping its geometry, and creating new perspectives and visual illusions through the use of mirrors and architectural elements.
The installation recreates the boiserie of a historic building, with regular forms alternating with hyper-decorative elements such as marbling and motifs inspired by Renaissance frescoes.
Radici’s textile surfaces and Zambaiti Parati’s wallpapers become a canvas on which the designer experiments with colour, combining pastel shades with bold tones to create unexpected contrasts.
Stripes, circles, diamonds, and lozenges—symbols that architecture has long celebrated—fill the space and are enhanced with marbled textures, as if painted in swift brushstrokes.
