Tempus Fugit
“Tempus Fugit” is an exhibition conceived by Studio Temp at the MACRO in Rome, combining reflections on work rhythms, urban culture, and visual references to the Italian provinces. The title of the exhibition – “Tempus Fugit” (time flies) – takes inspiration from the inscription on an antique clock in their studio, where it marks the rhythm of the workday and is reproduced oversized in the exhibition space. The practice of reworking and displacing a symbol is also employed to generate objects that engage with the language of graffiti and Roman history, aiming to connect the museum with the urban context. The carpet on the floor, specially created for the occasion with a Bloom print base, reproduces the TEMP logo, enlarged and repeated infinitely in the mindset typical of graffiti and tags, while the eight wall plaques draw inspiration from the format and style typical of Rome’s stone street names.
